I’m re-reading Lover Eternal right now and I realize two things:
J.R. Ward is genius(no that is not one of the two things it just bears repeating once in awhile) because she led on to Rhage’s amazing nature so early on in the book but in my first read through I missed it because I was too caught up in the outward description of him being a sex-needing jerk. He was so gentle and kind much sooner than I remembered.
and
Mary’s doubting nature is so easy to relate to. Oh let me count the ways in which I doubt my outward appearance is enough to captivate and hold my husband’s interest – just as Mary doubted how Rhage could ever be interested in her. Then on the flip side she is strong and resilient and could survive without his adoration.
just loving re-reads – I can spend my time on the little details since I already know the main “stuff”
